「スタイロフォームを熱した土で溶かして作った鉢」

鍋に入れた玉土をコンロで熱し、積層したスタイロフォームにかけるという極めてシンプルな方法で製作される植木鉢である。
スタイロフォームは融点が175°と低く、電熱線などで切断が可能である。この性質を活かして何か作れないかと考え始めたのが発端だった。
土の熱によってえぐられた輪郭は、緩やかに融解を停止するため、やや丸みを帯びたエッジとなる。
スタイロフォーム特有の水色は、植物の緑とも相性がよく、インテリアにも差し色として機能する。

“Pots made of styrofoam, shaped with hot soil”

These plant pots are made using a simple method: heating soil in a pot on a stove and pouring it over layered Styrofoam.
Styrofoam has a low melting point of 175° and can be cut with an electric heating wire. The idea began when I started to think about whether I could make something using this unique property.
The soil's heat gouges the shapes of the contours, and the melting process stops slowly, resulting in slightly rounded edges.
The light blue color specific to Styrofoam goes well with the green of the plants and functions as a color accent in the interior design.

<NOTE>
About the shape of the melting part of the product:
Each pot is handmade by pouring hot soil on styrofoam. Therefore, each pot is unique, and the shape of the molten part of the product may differ from the photos.

<Cautions for use>
If water is left in the pot for an extended period, it may seep out from the bottom. Use a saucer along with the pot, and drain from time to time.
Be careful where you place it, as it is a soft material.
